Electrician

If you want to be an Electrician that is tasked with repairing, installing and maintaining control systems, lighting, communications, and electrical power in factories, businesses, and homes. Maintain and install lighting, control and wiring systems. Inspect transformers, circuit breakers and other electrical components.

Solar Technician

You want to be a Solar Technician also called solar photovoltaic installers — assemble, install and maintain solar panels on homes, businesses or open land. Solar technicians may install photovoltaic solar panels, which convert the sun’s rays into electricity, or solar thermal panels, which capture the sun’s rays for usable heat.

Robotics Technician

A robotics technician is a person who builds, installs, tests maintains and repairs robotics. He or she provides expert service through the life of a robot, to prolong the robot’s use and support increased efficiency. They are an important part of the robotics producing team. Electrical Engineer

If you see yourself designing, developing, testing, and supervising the manufacture of electrical equipment, such as electric motors, radar and navigation systems, communications systems, or power generation equipment. You are an Electrical Engineer. Electrical engineers also design the electrical systems of automobiles and aircraft.

Electronic Engineer

Electronic engineering (also called electronics and communications engineering) is an electrical engineering discipline that utilizes nonlinear and active electrical components (such as semiconductor devices, especially transistors and diodes) to design electronic circuits, devices, integrated circuits and their systems. The discipline typically also designs passive electrical components, usually based on printed circuit boards.

Computer Engineer

Computer engineering is the most dynamic and rapidly growing engineering discipline in the vast and constantly expanding field of information and communication technology (ICT). It involves a combination of electronics, computer systems (hardware and software) and communication systems. Computer engineering is a branch of engineering that integrates several fields of computer science and electronic engineering required to develop computer hardware and software.

Robotics engineering is a field of engineering which centres on building machines that replicate human actions. A robotics engineer creates these applications or autonomous machines (aka robots) for industries such as mining, manufacturing, automotive, services and more.

Automotive Mechanic

An auto mechanic performs repairs and diagnostic tests on vehicles such as cars, vans and small trucks. Some will perform maintenance on heavy vehicles, while others specialize in off-road vehicles or parts such as engines, tires and brakes. Becoming an automotive technician is a good career option, especially if you are passionate about cars, love working with your hands, and wish to start earning as early as possible.

  • Before a student can successfully be enrolled for Automotive technology all students and parents of students must complete the mandatory subjects documents.
  • All students must find a Skill-building partner in his/her community. (All information on the Skill-building partner is included in the subject documents.)
  • Students must be aware that they must complete 105 mandatory skill-building hours in a workshop (skill-building partner) sourced by themselves and their parents.
  • In grade 12 all students that enrol for Automotive technology must attend a practical session in person.

Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical engineering is an engineering branch that combines engineering physics and mathematics principles with materials science to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery. Mechanical engineers are typically involved with the generation, distribution, and use of energy; the processing of materials; the control and automation of manufacturing systems; the design and development of machines; and the solutions to environmental problems.
